Christmas is just around the corner, and with Black Friday now gone attention has turned to getting things organised for the big day. Here are a few ideas if you are looking for gift inspiration for loved ones or friends/colleagues who have a fitness or health interest. It’s a lovely way to show your love and appreciation for someone, by buying them something useful that will hopefully improve their wellbeing!

Water Bottle, £15.99

It has never been so easy to stay hydrated with the wealth of practical and beautiful re-useable bottles out there on the market. Our Tom Johnson Lifestyle version keeps water chilled for 24 hours, or warm drinks hot for 12! Available in Black and Grey.

New Trainers, £ price varies

A new pair of trainers is always a welcome gift, just remember to keep a gift receipt or order number in case the lucky recipient needs to change for a different size! For the girls, if they are into lifting weights then try No Bull Lifting Shoes. For men, Adidas Powerlift Shoes are great, these are what I wear when I’m training. If you want to buy someone some running shoes, then Asics are the best – lots of support and cushioning.

kikki. K Food & Exercise Journal, £10

We love these Swedish designed kikki.K journals, they’re a really good way of keeping track of important health elements such as daily food intake, exercise progress and measurement. You can keep track of your sleep with the dedicated sleep section and also set goals regularly and enjoy reaching them. In a world where so much of our daily life is dictated by our smart phones, there is something really refreshing about picking up a pen and noting things down in a good old fashioned journal. A lovely gift. You can purchase directly from kikki. K online or John Lewis also have a good selection of these.

Mini Resistance Bands, £3.80

It’s no secret how much I love these versatile mini bands. They are perfect for adding resistance to a range of functional exercises, great for home workouts or for use at the gym, also so light and small that they are great for if you travel a lot or want to take them on holiday. Essential for a warm up before a weights session and also for post workout stretches. I wouldn’t be without mine. I use the black, which adds the most resistance but other colours are available.

Facial Rollers, £22 - £20

These have been around for a few years now and are as popular as ever, generally known as a ‘workout for the face’. The one that garnered all the hype was the Jade Roller, designed to decrease puffiness and minimize fine lines, whilst boosting circulation and stimulating lymphatic drainage. There is ancient Chinese medicine behind it, and no denying the relaxing impact it can have. The latest type is the new Face Gym FaceBall, a yoga ball for the face, designed to improve muscle tone and release tension. or

EDOdept Microfibre Towels, £18.95

I received one of these sets last year from my sister in law and I use it all the time. It’s an ultra absorbent microfibre towel, which dries 4 times faster than normal towels, and most importantly for me, folds down really small -  it is a huge space saver in my gym bag. They are really soft and good quality and it washes well, still feels good as new after a year of use! I love this and would really recommend them for a good quality and practical present – great for gym bags, swimming bags, kids bags, beach towels, travelling, camping – the list is endless.

You can buy them here:

Foam Roller, £ price varies

A great gift for fitness beginners or those more seasoned exercisers, a foam roller will ease out tension and muscle knots, essentially a deep tissue massage you can do yourself at home. Great for pre or post workout, or anytime you want to work on your flexibility, and reduction in stiffness. There are lots of different options available at different price points, you can get them in most supermarkets nowadays as well as the usual places – sports retailers, Amazon etc.

JAXJOX Smart Kettlebell, £329

This is on the higher end of the price scale, and would be a good gift idea for someone who has their own home gym, or wants to get more into working out at home. Kettlebells are extremely useful pieces of equipment, but as they go up in incremental value, they can take up a lot of space if you want to have the option to use a few different weights. This clever device, the worlds first digital kettlebell, is a huge space saver -  6 weights in one, as it is digitally adjusted and has an internal bullet stacking system. You can add or drop weight in seconds, saving lots of space in your house in the process. You can alternate between 5.5, 8.5, 11, 13.5, 16.5 and 19kg.

You can buy online at a number of websites but this one currently has it on offer for £299

Deep Sleep Pillow Spray, £19.50

Probably one for any ladies in your life, this famous sleep spray really does work. A 100% natural pillow spray that when spritzed on pillows or bed linen, helps you fall asleep faster and feel more refreshed in the morning. Its formulated with essentials oils such as lavender, vetiver and chamomile and has won plenty of beauty industry awards. You can get it from most department stores, M&S, Boots or lots of online retailers.

Tote Bags , £6.99

Now that single-use plastic bags have been phased out, there are lovely alternatives that can be used for carrying your shopping, to house all your gym kit, for trips to the markets or beach. We keep ours by the front door and some in the car so that we are never caught out, as with two children there is always lots to carry! Re-useable bags are brilliant – reducing plastic waste and environmentally friendly.  We do our own version which you can buy here:

There are so many great health & wellness products available these days, the items above are just a few ideas but you could also take a look at the following:

-Bamboo lunch boxes for stylish on-the-go eating

- Re-useable coffee cup

- Gym clothes - Adidas, Nike, Lululemon, Gymshark, Sweaty Betty, Gapfit, M&S, H&M

- Luxury ‘self-care’ toiletries - you could try Neom Organics, Jo Malone, White Company or Laura Mercier for bath salts, oils or creams

- A Nutribullet for the kitchen

- Fitness magazine subscription – Men’s Health/Women’s Health would be good options

When it comes to wrapping your gifts, remember that most local Councils aren’t able to recycle glittery or foil wrapping papers. A great way to reduce waste whilst keeping within the festive spirit is to use fabrics to wrap, brown paper with lovely ribbons, gift boxes, or to use a wrapping paper that is glitter and foil free.

We hope your festive planning is successful and that you also receive something nice under your tree this year!
