On the ninth day of Christmas, my PT gave to me..... 9 Mince Pies?!
Please don’t actually eat 9 mince pies in one go - I certainly didn’t!!
Remember that treats/sugary snacks are fine, in moderation - the idea of depriving yourself of any type of foods is not something I go along with, especially at Christmas time – you want to be able to enjoy yourself and food will play a huge part in that.
I just wanted to highlight the need for trying to make an informed decision about what you are about to eat… Think about what it is, where it comes from, how it will make you feel. This will help avoid any mindless eating and hopefully will help you enjoy it even more. The 80/20 % idea can be helpful - where you try to eat good quality nutritious foods for 80% of the time and then allow yourself 20% for the treats, or less nutritious foods.
